The Prince's Trust 30th Anniversary Television Gala is announced
7th December 2005
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William and Prince Harry will join The Prince’s Trust 30th anniversary celebrations next May at a live TV event featuring some of the biggest British and international stars.
Presented by Ant and Dec, the event includes a concert at the Tower of London and a live studio show, all to be shown on ITV1. One of the main highlights will be a world exclusive interview with the three Princes – the first time they have ever given an interview together.
Prince’s Trust 30th Live will be held next May and tickets for the event will be available to the general public through a number of ways, including text ballot.
TV viewers will be asked to pledge money to the charity, which helps disadvantaged young people in the UK, by phoning into the ITV studios during the extravaganza.
It is the first time the Tower of London has been home to an event of this scale and the line-up for the concert, yet to be confirmed, will include high profile international artists as well as Prince’s Trust Ambassadors.
Ant and Dec said: "As ambassadors for The Prince’s Trust we are really excited to be presenting this live event. We enjoyed interviewing The Prince of Wales four years ago and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to interview him again, this time with William and Harry."
The Prince of Wales set up The Prince's Trust in 1976 because he wanted to help young people in the UK. In 30 years, The Trust has helped over half a million young people and continues to support 100 more young people every day.
Martina Milburn, Chief Executive of The Prince’s Trust said: "The money raised through this event will mean we can change more young lives. The Prince of Wales and everyone at The Trust are so grateful to Simon Fuller, a long-term Trust Ambassador, for coming up with this fantastic idea and to ITV for producing and supporting the event."
Claudia Rosencrantz, Controller of Entertainment for ITV said: “This event promises to be a great night of entertainment for an excellent cause. We have an amazing venue in the Tower of London and we will have a line-up to match plus the country’s favourite entertainment presenters, Ant and Dec; there really will be something for everyone.”
Everyone can get involved in this event and The Prince’s Trust has some great fundraising ideas based around music, sport and fashion.
