The Duchess of Cornwall becomes Patron or President of six more charities

11th September 2005

The Duchess of Cornwall has agreed to become Patron or President of six more charities throughout the United Kingdom.

Her Royal Highness will become Patron of the following charities:

• Animal Care Trust (under the umbrella of The Royal Veterinary College)

• London Chamber Orchestra

• The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists

• Youth Action Wiltshire

• Cornwall Community Foundation

The Duchess has also agreed to become President of Scotland’s Gardens Scheme based in Edinburgh, mirroring a similar role to The Prince of Wales who is Patron of the English equivalent, the National Gardens Scheme.

The Duchess will become Patron and President of the charities immediately and, as with all subsequent patronages, Her Royal Highness’s position will be reviewed every five years.

Her Royal Highness’s decision to take on the new Patronages means she is now formally associated with a number of charitable organisations. Click here to find out more.
