Sir Malcolm Ross is appointed as the new Master of TRH's Household

27th October 2005

Sir Malcolm Ross, currently Comptroller, Lord Chamberlain’s Office at Buckingham Palace, has been appointed Master of the Household of TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. Sir Malcolm, who is retiring from his position in The Queen’s Household at the end of the year, will start in his new post in January 2006. He is replacing Kevin Knott, who is leaving to become Estates Bursar at Trinity College, Oxford.

As Master of the Household Sir Malcolm’s responsibilities will include the overall supervision of The Prince’s and The Duchess’s programme and diary, residences, security matters, personal and domestic staff, official and private entertaining, corporate social responsibility, and various other issues including the Home Farm at Highgrove.

Sir Michael Peat, Principal Private Secretary to The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, said today: “I am absolutely delighted that Malcolm will be joining us at Clarence House. His experience, integrity and proven management abilities will be a great asset to the Household. We are all very sorry that Kevin is leaving, but we could not have found a better successor than Malcolm.”
